The "Before" photo shows the home's enclosed exterior porch and entrance.

We removed the two exterior walls of the enclosed porch...the one shared with the house and the one enclosing the porch. Then, we rebuilt a single new exterior wall on top of the old porch footprint. As a result, we turned 434 sf of exterior porch into interior space! 

Now, the home had space for a new kitchen and family room. 

The interior re-creation: The open and bright kitchen and family room was designed by combining the "new-found" porch square footage with the original but redesigned interior space...we removed the home's 3 small interior rooms and 2 hallways.

The original staircase formerly hidden by the dark hallway wall was transformed into a freestanding showpiece.

The exterior entrance was removed and replaced with a new exterior stairway, entry interior hallway and mudroom.
